The 73rd Michigan Turfgrass Conference is quickly approaching and this is sure to be a conference you don't want to miss. This year is going to be especially significant as we are celebrating the retirement of the Michigan Turfgrass Foundations executive secretary, Mr. Gordon LaFontaine. There will be a dinner/roast for Gordy on Tuesday night, January 21, stay tuned for further details.

Some of the highlights for the conference include a Poa Throw-Down on Tuesday afternoon that will cover ever thing you wanted to know about killing, living, or are just curious about Poa. Speakers will include: Dr. Al Turgeon, Dr. Frank Rossi, Dr. Karl Danneberger, Dr. Bruce Branham, Ron Calhoun, and Dr. Joe Vargas. Athletic field sessions will be expanded to a full day on Tuesday and Wednesday and the lawn care/commercial turf management topics will be presented on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Also this year we are continuing our relationship with the GCSAA to offer golf course superintendents CEUs for attending qualifying workshops. In addition, most workshop and sessions will have pesticide recertification credits available to attendees. There will be a great diversity of workshops to choose from including:
